I felt this entry should win over the other two posted. This person really seems to be grounded and know where she is going! It sounds like she has had experience in many cultural issues that have helped her to become an open minded person. She has high goals and will be in school for a while so I am sure that money is a factor in getting this education. I enjoyed her essay, it was very inspiring.

I think this entry should win a scholarship. It sounds as though she needs the money first of all. Secondly, we really need nurse educators and she sounds like she has experience from her former career to do this. I was impressed with her honesty and the ability to juggle all she is juggling!

As a new clinical instructor, one of my first clinical groups was sent to a nursing home. I had about 8 students and was trying to keep up with them all and watch them bathe, dress and feed patients etc. I was down the hall and had a frantic student come up to me with the following statement: "Mrs. Williams, come quick, it looks like this ladies' insides are falling out!".
