About Me:
I'm the Community Liason over at CampusRN2RN and am here to help! Any questions, comments, or suggestions about the network are welcome.

Our vision for this network is as a community resource for nursing students, nurses, and employers to connect with each other. We understand how difficult it can be to get through nursing school and making the transition into the workforce. Our hope is that having a place to share with others who have had or are having similar experiences will ease the process.

This network is still new so we appreciate any help we can get in expanding and improving - let us know what we can do better!

I am not a nurse but am eager to learn about what is most important for everyone. This network is for you so we would like to do our best in catering it around your needs.

Right now, I am a recent graduate of Westfield State with a BA in Music and Piano. I live within a stone's throw of the Boston area with my fiancee, getting married hopefully within the next year or so.
I obviously love music, am a diehard Boston sports fan, and love all sorts of games, especially poker.

I'm open to answering any questions you might have, and look forward to connecting you into our social network.

Sincerely,

-Jesse

'Make a case for staffing levels in your trust'

(It seems just as important as finding a new job now is protecting the job once you get it.  Take a few moments to read this.)

The chief executives of trusts and private companies may consider “red lining” through many a group of nurses just to save costs. As the biggest workforce in the healthcare community, nursing salaries are undoubtedly flashing brightly on the budget sheets. But it is wrong to just slash and burn this cost, because it is nurses who have one of the…

Good Grief: Nurses Cope With Patient Deaths

(This was a very interesting article I found while looking for news updates for nurses, and I felt it would be a good read possibly worth discussing amongst our RN2RN members.  Please feel free to respond!)

Good Grief: Nurses Cope With Patient Deaths

Rowena Orosco, RN, BSN, had been working at Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center in Baltimore for three years when a family with seven children was brought to the hospital after a fire destroyed their…

Thinking
like a nurse

To a patient, it may look like a nurse is touching a wrist, changing a bandage, reading a chart and asking random questions. What she’s also doing is thinking.

That nurse is assessing, listening, gathering information, prioritizing and planning the next action — all within minutes — often without being aware of all that she’s doing.

Critical thinking is at the heart of being a good nurse.

“You start with the guidelines and theory that you know, and you build…

Nurses now can enter legal field as expert witnesses

Nurses can now become expert witnesses, a field previously dominated by physicians.

Any nurse, regardless of education or specialty, interested in expanding their career options to be nurse expert witnesses will learn skills for this new career at a two-day legal nurse certification course

in Memphis, Sept. 25-26, offered by Jurex Center For Legal Nurse

Consulting.

Clarksville native Elizabeth G. Rudolph, an attorney, nurse and legal nurse consultant, founded…

It is my pleasure to introduce you to Continuing Education Units 411 (CEU 411). The primary goals are to provide nurses with a tax deductable vacation, obtain nursing contact hours, enriched with multicultural and travel experiences. To provide you with an idea of the available educational services, please visit the website.

The next nursing seminar will be held in November, 2008 “Nursing Care of Patients with Anxiety, Panic, and Anxiety Disorders” in Paris France. Registered Nurses will receive ten (10) contact hours for their attendance of the seminar. Interested nurses may visit at www.ceu411.com for details. Please share this information provided with your co-workers.
Sincerely,

Sharon
