We are nurses not nurse maids for docters

What i hate the most is not only do i try to be the best at my job but when the docter just takes advantage of your positon and asked for more than what you should be doing and what your job requierments are! Many times our position is not respected and i can not stand that! not only do we not get paid good but we have to be maids too oh nooooo thats not the reason i desided to be a nurse

I have a friend that is a nurse in England and she says it's even worse there. Nurses are still getting the doctors coffee! They get half the salary we do in the states as well. We definitely don't get paid enough for what we are doing!

I agree with you Carrie. But you have to admit we are getting more respect these days than we used to. It is just sad it has taken this long

what you are saying is true.but if you all in your unit decide and agree to do only what you are suppose to then the doctor will not have to send you go bring his bag from his car or give him a cup of coffee and so on.
i dont take that mess from anybody i do what my job description asks me to and not more than.

Thanks for this thread, I suffer such taught as well, I choose to be a nurse not cos it's met for the dulls, CAPITAL NO, but cos i have passion in taking care of people and I know that I have a call in nursing career. I hate seeing doctor telling me trash as if he's all and all. I can do my nursing work without been supervised. I know, and I know that no doctor is better than I do on my field as a nurse. I love my job and I will do it no matter what it takes, I will find pleasure doing it.

We have to keep everybody happy... doctors, patients, family, and their significant other, too! We can't do it all, but the profession expects us too and I'm so tired of it!
